FEED studies delivered for the two full-scale CO2 capture projects in Norway

At the end of October 2019, Norway's two full-scale CO2 capture projects made further progress with the delivery of their final front-end engineering and design (FEED) studies to the Norwegian state-owned company, Gassnova.

Fortum Oslo Varme (Waste to Energy plant) and Norcem/HeidelbergCement (cement plant) will now await the results of evaluations and quality assurance by Gassnova, which coordinates and monitors work on full-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) in Norway. The Norwegian Department of Oil and Energy will carry out additional evaluations.

The timescale for the evaluations is set up to enable the Norwegian Parliament to make an investment decision for the Norwegian full-scale CCS project in 2020/2021.
