DECHEMA (Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology) is an interdisciplinary scientific society with 190 staff and more than 5500 personal and institutional members, including around 500 SMEs, whose activities cover wide areas relevant to the process industries. DECHEMA is dedicated to supporting R&D progress and implementation in various fields of chemical engineering, including catalysis and reaction engineering. DECHEMA’s work is supported by 70 working parties from academia, industry and authorities, including a large section on fluid dynamics and separation with 14 working parties.
DECHEMA is organiser of the International Exhibition-Congress on Chemical Engineering, Environmental Protection and Biotechnology (ACHEMA) and around 50 conferences with over 10,000 participants per year.
Its Research and Project Coordination group is very experienced in coordinating and managing European projects and has been coordinator of several large-scale EU projects. In addition to a coordination and management role, the group has particular expertise in dissemination, knowledge management and training, including the organisation of conferences, workshops and exhibitions. DECHEMA hosts more than 50 websites including project websites and secure collaborative workspaces for information exchange and knowledge management of project consortia.
Dennis Kraemer, Project Manager
Dennis Kraemer has been a project manager in DECHEMA's research and project coordination working group since 2008. Since 2010, his foicus has been national and international projects on CO2 utilisation. These include the accompanying scientific projects of the BMBF funding measures and the EU-funded project SCOT for the creation of a European vision and roadmap. Dennis is also coordinator of the EU-funded CarbonNext project, which evaluates CO2 sources from different sectors and application areas for material use. He has strong links with the main actors in the field of CO2 utilisation, including involvement in the founding of a European association on CCU, and is co-author of a current overview article on the political framework conditions that influence CO2 utilisation. He studied environmental technology / environmental measurement technology at the University of Applied Sciences Wiesbaden and wrote his diploma thesis at the National Center for Atmospheric Re-search in Boulder, USA. Dennis is DECHEMA's key point of contact for the Secretariat.
